We have built a brand new program for the new HSC Physics syllabus at a level of depth and rigour unmatched across the state. Our carefully designed classes thoroughly cover every aspect of the syllabus, ensuring every year 12 student has the ability to perform at their very best.
Each week, our physics students are supplemented by practical notes, weekly workbooks and access to 1,000+ past papers to help them build an in-depth understanding of course material. Project Academy represents the most personalised support system any high school physics student can have.
Every week, your physics teacher tailors each lesson to your needs. Classes are small, no larger than 15 students each and homework sets are personally marked by physics tutors who provide comprehensive individual feedback.
Tutorials are weekly 1 – 4 private sessions with a personalised physics tutor, who will act as your personal guide throughout the year. Your dedicated physics tutor will be responsible for your weekly progress and act as your go-to for any assistance you require.
Every Project Academy student receives access to an unmatched library of physics resources through our custom made tech ecosystem. This includes exclusive past papers, textbooks, and state-rank calibre notes not accessible anywhere else.
Ranging from HSC State Rankers, to scholars at MIT and Wharton, our tutors are hand picked based on academic performance and teaching prowess. All teachers have a record of producing amazing results amongst their physics students.

Project Academy provides you with everything you need for HSC success. NSW’s best HSC Physics tutors, incredible resources and unlimited support is just the beginning.
Comprehensive Notes
Project Academy has spent hundreds of hours over the last year creating resources for the new syllabus and depth studies. Our notes cover every aspect of the new physics syllabus in detail and explores the underlying mechanics of physics to build a thorough level of understanding.
1,000+ Past Papers
We’ve collected physics past papers from schools over the past 10 years and organised them into an app, with solutions, on your Project iPad.
20 Mock HSC Exams (LEAP)
Our rigid weekly exam program that tests students in supervised conditions that parallel the HSC. LEAP is a program that prepares physics students for the worst possible scenario, pushing them to acknowledge any content gaps and any weaknesses in exam techniques or study habits. A comprehensive review of exam held following its completion to ensure the same mistakes are not made again.
Depth Studies
Project Academy offers an extensive range of resources to assist physics students in their new syllabus depth study assessment tasks. This includes content specific physics books as well as books aimed at developing critical scientific skills. Additionally, sessions with a HSC physics tutor will be provided in the case that a student requires further assistance with their depth study.
Weekly Workbook
Our physics workbooks are designed to make understanding and revising for the HSC easier. Each workbook helps you capture class content in a neat, structured way so that you remember how to approach every HSC problem.
1,000+ Exam Style Questions
We've created a question bank comprised of over 1,000 original exam-style physics questions designed specifically to cover every aspect of the next HSC. These questions can be accessed by Project Academy students at all times, with physics tutors readily available to answer any queries or concerns.
Practical Notes
Your first HSC physics Assessment is very likely a practical assessment. We’ve written a detailed guide which covers every aspect of "working scientifically" and includes practice exam questions and solutions to prepare you for practical tasks. Additionally, Project Academy students can book into sessions with a physics tutor to cover any gaps in their understanding.
Be always one term ahead of school. Our Physics program is specially designed so that you are ready to sit the HSC an entire month beforehand.

Success in HSC Physics is a combination of 2 key elements: understanding (not memorising) the syllabus concepts well, and practising rigorously and consistently. The syllabus should be your manual for what to study (to make sure you don't miss anything, and aren't studying any irrelevant concepts). Understanding rather than memorising physics theory helps you make important links between different concepts and fields, while regular practice helps you lock in the information into your brain and improve the communication of your thoughts. For more information, we highly recommend reading the Physics Study Guide written by Ed (our Head of Physics!)
Year 12 Physics is certainly a challenging subject, with content such as the applications of electromagnetism in generators and transformers, and the standard model of matter outlining our fundamental particles and forces. However, I (a tutor at Project) strongly believe that we gain more from studying 'hard' subjects than the dull, simple and colourless ones. Like some of the harder maths subjects, many students will go through tough times during the Physics course (I did too!), but they will almost always come out of it with an improved understanding and curiosity of the world, and a sense of pride in their own abilities. At the end of the day, if Physics is a subject you love, then the course will not feel 'hard', but instead, it will seem like a gift to be able to study it and learn new concepts every day!
The difference in scaling between physics and chemistry is negligible, almost to the point that it can be ignored. Variations in the exams and cohort each year also make it difficult to predict which subject will 'scale better'. However, a much more significant contributor to a student's success in these subjects is how passionate they are about it. We find that students that do subjects that 'scale better' but don't like them tend to perform lower than students doing lower-scaling subjects that they are passionate about. So, we recommend choosing the subjects you enjoy doing, and studying hard for them to maximise your marks.
Project's HSC Physics LEAP Program has been specially crafted by some of the best tutors from the state to help our students excel in the HSC. It focuses on the skills and habits identified by state-rankers, and drills them over a 12-week program of 12 Exams and 12 Exam Reviews. Each exam is 3 hours long and held in strict, timed conditions to help students excel in the HSC exam atmosphere. Additionally, the extensive duration of the program allows us to test all parts of the syllabus rigorously, including strengthening foundations and exploring more difficult applications of theory, which are built upon in the exam reviews.
